The Martian Chronicles is a landmark book in its genre and beloved by many fans. Usually the dust jacket s spine gets quite faded, not so with this specimen. It is NOT price clipped, and NOT restored in any way. The dust jacket is a beauty and rarely seen in better condition. The lettering on the spine in vibrant and NOT ruubed out. A touch of spine fade as is common for the title. The boards are square and clean and retain their original greenish colour. Exceptionally clean without any previous owner s scribbles, no bookplates etc. His handwriting deteriorated further towards the end of his life.

Bradbury suffered a stroke in 1999 leaving him reliant on a wheelchair. Notice the difference in Bradbury s handwriting between the book which was signed in 1998 and the images that were signed in the late 2000s. We also provide an illustrated Folio Society edition of the Martian Chronicles as a reading copy. Bradbury has flat signed this photograph. To the right we also the little rover Sojourner. The second photograph shows Ares Vallis, an outflow channel on Mars which was photographed by the Mars Pathfinder probe in 1997. Bradbury inscribed this with Matt! Mars if Heaven| Ray Bradbury. The first photograph shows a Mars sunrise. We also provide two NASA photographs of Planet Mars. In addition, a loosely inserted stcker label note by Bradbury to the person who requested to get the book signed: For Diane Peterson| This copy of Martian Chronicles with good wishes from Ray Bradbury.
